The Epic Experiment Podcast

This week we are going to try and take some lessons from decks that have been a flop.  You know the ones. The ones where you get a fun idea and then it never really comes together.  Well, I have had a number of such decks and thought it might be helpful to sort through what made them underwhelming and what lessons I learned along the way. Come and check out my Hall of Shame.

Reality Fracture is here and it is breathing new life into Planeswalkers.  They are once again a central component of what we are doing and it feels very refreshing.  Is it time to revisit the discussion around using Planeswalkers as Commanders?  Join in the conversation and let me know what you think!

Tonight I wanted to talk about Social Responsibility and how all of us play a role in making sure our Commander game is fun.  Much has been said about Brackets, and Rule 0 and how not to salt off, but I think having a fun play experience starts long before we sit down at the table.  It starts with us selecting Commanders that can create the fun experience we are looking to cultivate instead of Commanders that lead to only two primary outcomes...Boom or Bust.  Stick around as I walk you through my thought process and I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter.

Tonight, we are bidding adieu to the Hobbit to make way for Reality Fracture, the next set that will be released shortly.  We have a quick retrospective, talk a little about the new set, the demise of Alchemy, and finding some decently priced updates to our mana bases.
